Last day for the Equipment Return

2010-04-28

Monday April 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Last day for the equipment return. Monday April 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

Please pass along this information to all your teams.

Please review the following instructions and prepare the equipment for return.

JERSEYS:
A few notes to help you prepare the jerseys/bags for return:
  1.  Please inspect jersey numbers and crests for mold/mildew. (Yes, this happens – especially if stored wet/sweaty.) You can remove the mold/mildew by applying a dab of bleach to the spot(s). Do not let it sit too long, or it could make a hole. Launder normally. Re-apply bleach as necessary.
  2. Wash all jerseys in your machine. Hang (preferably) until COMPLETELY dry. If the jerseys are even remotely damp while stored, they will rot.
  3. Wash the jersey bag in your machine on gentle cycle; cold water. Hang to completely dry.
  4. Hangars – please inspect and replace any jersey hangars that are rusted or bent up (i.e. they can’t hold a jersey properly). Dry cleaners are usually pretty good about ‘donating’ new metal hangars if you need some. If they bill you, bring me the receipt for reimbursement. Please do NOT replace metal hangars with plastic ones, as they are just too cumbersome and bulky to hang on the storage rods.
  5. Arrange your fresh, nice-smelling jerseys in numerical order in the bag – all hangars facing the same way, all jersey facing the same way. Please make a note if any of your jerseys are damaged or need to be replaced. You are now good to go.

If you can take care of steps 1-5 at home, then the return will go quickly.

For the return, the procedure is as follows:
  1. Bring jerseys up to the cage above the Joe Philips arena (stair access is to the right of the locker room hallway)
  2. Two wardrobe racks (one for home jerseys, one for away jerseys) will be set up. Remove all of your jerseys from the bag and hang them in numerical order on the rack.
  3. We will inspect them for cleanliness and assess them for damage as well as viability for use next year; we will also note if any are missing from what you were given in October. UNWASHED JERSEYS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  4. Once your jerseys are given the ‘all-clear’, we will then re-bag them put them in the cage and you will be good to go!

PUCKS:
All teams were given a puck bag and approximately 30 pucks. We realize that some pucks end up in the bag of the teams with whom you shared practice ice, but it would be nice to get as close to 30 pucks (or more, if you collected extras) back when you return them. Please bring the pucks AND puck bag up to the cage on the same day as the scheduled jersey return.

PINNIES:
Any pinnies that have not yet been returned must be cleaned and returned now. Please note any numbers that are missing.

Note: If you are not available to return your jerseys on the day(s) scheduled, please ask someone from your team to do this chore for you.

Thanks

Sheri Lindsay
