The Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Kyle James Stuart Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2002 as the Springbank Minor Hockey Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to female and male Springbank residents who have enrolled in a secondary educational program and who have in some way actively participated in, or volunteered in, the Springbank Minor Hockey program. Successful applicants receive funding as a reward, or thank you, for their generous efforts of participation in the Minor Hockey program as players, coaches, refereess, or otther forms of volunteerism.

In early 2004 the Scholarship Fund was renamed to honor the memory and spirit of Kyle James (Stewy) Stuart, who epitomized the true spirit of participation and who unselfishly devoted his time as a respected and dedicated volunteer for the Springbank Minor Hockey program. Kyle Stuart became a Springbank resident in 1997 and left us suddenly in December 2003. Although his residency in the Springbank community was relatively short in time, his memory will live on forever. During his years in Springbank Kyle was highly regarded and respected as a fine young gentleman and a good friend. Kyle was revered by his peers for his unfailing commitment to team playand unwavering support of his friends. In addition, Kyle unselfishly devoted his spare time to assisting minor hockey players through evaluations, coaching, and his tireless and dependable hours as a referee. Kyle Stuart, through his actions, represented the true meaning of participation and volunteering.

FUN, DEDICATED, DEPENDABLE, AND UNSELFISH.
